Andrea Mitchell
Andrea Mitchell, an American journalist and commentator who works for NBC News in Washington D.C. she is a TV anchor. She received an undergraduate degree in English Literature at the University of Pennsylvania after growing as a child in New York City. Mitchell began her career working as a TV and radio reporter for Philadelphia, KYW Radio and TV. In 1976 she was a part of the CBS affiliate WDVM-TV located in Washington DC (then WTOP). Then, she became a Washington general correspondent with NBC News two years later. In 1981 she began covering the White House. In 1988 she became the head of the congressional reporters. Mitchell was promoted to the chief White House correspondent in 1992. As well as the the chief correspondent for foreign affairs at NBC News. Mitchell was a panelist on the TV program Meet the Press and also hosted the program. Mitchell also participated as a panelist in the debate in 1988 among George Bush & Michael Dukakis. Mitchell is married to Alan Greenspan former chairman of the Federal Reserve Board. Mitchell won the Goldsmith Career Award in Journalism in 2005 from the John F. Kennedy School of Government. The Radio-Television News Directors Association awarded Mitchell Leonard Zeidenberg the award in 2004 for her role in protecting First Amendment Freedoms. Mitchell's first White House coverage was for NBC News, between 1981-1988. The time span covered the two Ronald Reagan terms in office. She covered a wide range of interesting stories such as arm control, budget tax reform and the Iran-contra scandal. Mitchell was frequently with the President Reagan to meetings with Mikhail Gorbachev and other world top leaders.
